Why not join the bandwagon and make my very own gift guide? I have several options for each product. Hopefully you will find lots of things to buy friends and family in here!
I would like to think of this gift guide as a kind of fail-safe guide. I am providing two examples of each product so hopefully at least one of them will suit someone on your gift list this year! Let’s get started!
1. Sheet Masks
What makes a better gift for a skincare junkie than a good ole face mask? The sheet mask has become a cult skincare item recently, and for many, winter is the time you need to amp up the moisture levels and the radiance! Sheet masks are an easy thing to add to your evening to make it feel more like a pamper night.
I would recommend the Timeless Truth face masks. They are award winning and there’s a mask to suit almost every skin type or complaint. Most are £4.90 for one or £23.30 for a pack of five, but some start at one for £7.90. I’ve tried the Apple Collagen Face Mask* and can vouch for how luxurious it feels and how great your skin feels afterwards!
A more affordable sheet mask is the Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask which is amazingly hydrating and comes in at £1.49 full-price from Boots, but if you keep an eye out it regularly has a price reduction!
I don’t know about you, but when I was younger I was always slightly disappointed when I opened a present to find it was yet another pair of socks. Oh how times have changed! I now find socks making a regular appearance on my birthday and Christmas wishlists. Maybe I have an addiction, or maybe I am in an eternal battle with the notorious and elusive sock-monster. You choose.
My all-time favourite socks to wear every day are Bamboo socks. They started off being one of those things that sounded weird and nobody had heard of. But now they’ve become a lot more main-stream and accessible (I have some from Tesco) and people seem to be loving them. They are so unbelievably soft! I love ones from Green Treat in particular. Available in 3-packs from £7 to £12 from ASOS.
If you have a close friend or family member who suffers from dry skin they may really appreciate some moisturising socks! If you’re after something like this I’d recommend the Beautyfeet by Sockshop*. Simple black socks which can be worn everyday, even to work, and they do the work for you while you get on with your day!
3. Strip Lashes
As this is officially part-season, I think just about any makeup wearing or experimenting friend may appreciate some fake lashes! They can add a bit of drama, or just boost your natural volume or length!
Fleur de Force has the most beautiful and wearable range of lashes with Eylure. A favourite is Petit Fleur which are subtle enough to be worn every day and they just boost your natural look!
For something a bit more dramatic, a great option is the Angel Lashes range by Threads*. I received a couple of different styles and am looking forward to wearing them on Christmas nights out and New Years! There are a lot of party styles to choose from all at £9 a pair. This may be a little more pricey than some, but they are handmade, have super-flexible bands and are latex and fragrance free.
Oh my, I am obsessed with candles. More so this year than any other. They really set a relaxing atmosphere, get rid of any lingering smells in a room and generally make me feel happy.
I won a giveaway earlier in the year and the prize was a candle from Tangy Melon! Not only is the brand name random and awesome, but their candles are so individual. They’re about #Hashtags #Humour and #Happiness which I think is such a great motto to go by. I chose the Pumpkin and Spiced Apple candle which is possibly the most Christmassy smelling candle EVER!
I’d also like to recommend Skye Candles as a great candle and home fragrance option. They are a Scottish company local to me and the brand has grown so quickly, it’s definitely one you need to check out!
5. Lip Balm
I always love to receive a good lip balm in the winter. Burts Bees have one of my favourites of all time – their Beeswax Lip Balm with Vitamin E and Peppermint Oil. If you know anybody who loves anything minty – they will adore this. It is so nourishing too, perfect for when giving your lips a bit of a boost in the drying weather.
A more recent discovery are the Dr. Paw Paw balms. This is ‘the multi-purpose weapon against all kinds of skin problems’ (Look Fantastic). It is fragrance free, intensely nourishing and you can use it for anything! So far I’ve used it on my cuticles, my lips, as an overnight mask on dry patches and as an eyebrow tamer and pomade!
*This post contains PR samples. This does not alter my opinion of the products.
