Here is how the past month went for me in my own blog posts, plus some of my favourites from other blogs!
I wasn’t quite as industrious with my blog posts this month unfortunately, but I had less time off and I just got overwhelmed. I definitely need to organise my time better! I have bought a proper diary which I feel is a step in the right direction! But anyway, here are the posts I did manage to write, and some links to particular favourites from other people.

My Blog Posts
Last month was my first month making a ‘My Month in Blog Posts’ post. I feel like I’m saying the word post too much and it’s starting to sound weird…Check it out for a summary of my first month of blogging!
I subscribed to the Libbie Club mainly out of curiosity as I heard about it being advertised as a beauty box for bloggers. I wont be carrying on with the subscription as it required me to make a sale on one of the products to receive the next month. To be honest, I just don’t think the products suited me well enough to sell them to someone else, but that Mizon Ampoule cream is gorgeous.
I always seem to forget to tell people about my staple products! What?! I don’t know if it’s just because they are so normal to me that I don’t even think about them when I go to write a review or what…But I had to tell you guys about this stuff! It’s my (and my boyfriend’s) absolute favourite treat before sleeping.
I announced this month that I have booked a Holiday for next year! I’m hoping for some sun and currently have a very Scottish lack of swimwear, so I’m on the search for some swimwear that will make me look good and feel confident. If you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them!
As you can see, this is another post in the Holiday theme. I do have a small suitcase, but it cost me about £10 from Ikea so I feel like I need to get something a bit more sturdy with more handy pockets. Just cos. Here are some of the best options I found, for every budget (or lack of, I guess).
Now this Subscription is such a gem. I definitely recommend it – and that’s my honest feelings, I’m not getting paid to say it. Refer to my post Love Me Beauty subscription: How it works if you want a more in-detail look at the costs etc. The September Boutique has products from Kat Von D and Omorovicza among other brands – I am incredibly excited to try these products out!
After my first month of blogging I wondered how people managed to finish enough products to make a post about it each month, but by the end of August, I had managed to gather my own little collection of empty tubes and bottles to talk about.
My Favourite Blog Posts
1. August Favourites 2016 by A South African Rose
I found this post towards the end of the month as I only just discovered Alexandra’s blog. Her posts are filled with great pictures of the products which keeps me really engrossed. All the beautiful colours! I also find it really interesting to read about brands that aren’t readily available here in the UK. I’m sure you’ll love her blog as she also experiments with more abstract, arty looks now and then. Major creativity envy.
2. August Favourites! by Elle Grace Deveson
Another August Favourites post! Sorry if this is getting old but I couldn’t not mention this post. This girl has such a readable, conversational style which is a joy. I really need to take a page from her book. Or a few. Elle is a fellow British blogger, so it was interesting to see some products recommended that are easy to get here. She is also such a friendly, chatty person – I’m sure any comments will get a great response. Also, follow her on twitter – that’s where I met her!
3. Sanctuary Spa Products by Steph Hannam
I’ve never heard of Sanctuary Spa before so that was clickbait for me. I am so glad I did, apart from anything else, this post made me feel like it was sunny Summer again (which we haven’t had for a while in oh-so-sunny Scotland). The products have been photographed outside with a backdrop of greenery, flowers and blue skies. I also really want to check this brand out after reading her post!
4. Essential Pieces for Every Wardrobe by Kimberly Starr
This post is something that everybody should read. It really does highlight some of the essentials as a base for your wardrobe. I am still on the search for some of these, but this post really brought it home that, yes, I do need to find the perfect jeans. Are they worth paying a bit more money for? Yes. Can I spare that money? Questionable. Pair with the quality of the post the fact that Kimberley Starr is an all-round fantastic blogger with great photography skills and such a lovely manner and you have a must-read!
5. How and why to create a Media Kit for your Blog by Melyssa Griffin
Now if you are a blogger or social media influencer, at some point you are going to need to make yourself a Media Kit. Basically a bloggers resume. But please, read Melyssa’s post about it as she explains it so much better than I could, plus she tells you exactly what you should try to put in it and gives you a free Media Kit template to download! She’s also very active on social media – I’ve spoken to her on twitter – so I’m sure she will be there to help you if you have any queries. She’s basically a blogging guru.
Please do link any posts you’d like to be considered for the next ‘My Month in Blog Posts’ in the comments! Let me know what you think of any of these posts!
