August Empties

There are some new tries in here as well as some oldies, read on to find out which were favourites and which will just be forgotten about.

I’ve seen lots of people do this type of post, and I actually have quite a few empties this month so thought I would give you guys an idea of what things I’ve been trying out this month.

Many of these products were received via my Love Me Beauty subscription. Read my post on How it Works to find a way to get free credits to spend in your first month!

Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet and Nuxe Gelee Exfoliante

I received both of these in my monthly Love Me Beauty subscription. Read a review of the Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet here or the Nuxe Exfoliant here.

I have now completely used up these products and have decided not to repurchase either of them. The Nuxe Gelee Exfoliant smells lovely and is very natural, but I didn’t notice that much of a difference to my skin when I used it. I may go back to it in the future as it is such a lovely product and I might need a bigger size to really see if it is effective.

The Caudalie feels nice and cool when you put it on, but I have much more moisturising products, such as my Clinique dramatically different moisturiser, which I prefer.

Pixi Glow Tonic

Now this is one that I am unsure about. I think I’ll put it on my list as something to possibly repurchase at another time. I feel like there wasn’t quite enough product in here for me to decide whether or not it really made a difference to my skin. I want to love it – it’s an exfoliating toner – who doesn’t love a great multitasker? (I received this in my July Love Me Beauty subscription).

Rimmel Primer, LMB Sponge and Lash Sensational Mascara

Let’s start with the Rimmel Primer. I bought this ages ago from the pharmacy as there wasn’t much choice in primers and I decided i wanted to try one for the first time. I have never liked this though. I haven’t noticed any mattifying as the name would suggest, and it smells kind of salty in a weird way. It doesn’t do anything for me but I didn’t want to throw away a full tube so I’ve been using it up this month. I also thought it would be a good way of actually giving it a fair trial.

Then there’s the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara. This is an all-time favourite of mine and I have already repurchased it. It’s actually the new one in the picture as I have taken my old (now empty) one around with me so much that the black printing is barely there anymore! I LOVE this and strongly recommend it to anybody. It lifts, curls a little (I still use my lash curler) and separates the lashes to give you a beautiful fanned out look.

Now I don’t think the makeup sponge counts as an empty, but it is something which I have used so much that it needs throwing out and replaced if I wasn’t to carry on using it, so I thought it was worth including. I received this in my first LMB subscription bag, and I have been using it almost every day since then! I absolutely love it and it has completely convinced me that blending sponges are the way forward. However, I have shown it so much love that it has little tears in it. I need a new one. However, I wont be able to get the exact one as the LMB shop changes constantly and it is no longer there. I think I’ll go for a Real Techiques one and see how that goes.

What did you use up this month? Have you tried any of these? In particular Pixi’s Glow tonic?

I loved this post! I’ve been wanting to try that Pixi toner out for a while now!

Yeah, I’m kinda tempted to get a bigger bottle as I want to give it a chance and that tiny bottle was far too small to see any difference in my skin!

That is a shame about the Primer as it is one of my holy grails for keeping me matte! Maybe it all depends what foundation it is paired with. Another amazing one for oily skin is from Wilkos, it is from the Kiss Collection in the pink packaging it is only £3 but everyone loves it!

I could have had a dud tube I guess! My nearest Wilkos is about 6 hours away but if I get to one I’ll definitely try that out! I’m loving the baby skin instant pore eraser at the moment! Loving Maybelline in general to be honest xx
