The Libbie Club – August

The Libbie Club – August

Another month, another beauty box, including products from Indeed Laboratories, South Korean skincare brand Mizon and the newborn British, natural, vegetarian beauty brand ‘Nizz Cosmetics’. Read on for some live deals on all three products!

It hadn’t even reached August (yes…we’re already 2/3 of the way through the year *gasp*) when I received the Libbie Club box for this month, which has given me a few days of trying out to develop my own opinion about each product!

The three products I received are all from brands I was unfamiliar with (I had heard of Indeed Laboratories but never tried anything from them) so needless to say I was very eager to get stuck in and try each of them out.

If you don’t have time to read the reviews then click here to be taken straight to my live deals for each product.

Nanoblur Instant Skin Finisher by Indeed Laboratories

The first thing I wanted to try was Nanoblur Instant Skin Finisher from Indeed Laboratories. Indeed has built itself a very good reputation, producing popular products such as the much raved about Hydraluron products, so there was quite a hype when this product came out. After all, it promises to diminish the appearance of fine lines, shine and enlarged pores in 40 seconds for photo-ready skin. This sounded like a dream-cream to me.

It is recommended that you either use this as a finishing touch after moisturizer if you’re going without makeup, or on top of liquid foundation and under powder. As it is unrealistic that I would leave the house without at least a little makeup to cover up blemishes and redness at the moment, I thought it only fair to try the product out how I would actually use it: in conjunction with makeup.

I patted a pea-sized spot of this product over my nose (prone to being shiny) and across the lower under-eye/upper cheekbone area and then used the rest up in the middle of my chin where I am prone to breaking out. I patted this in for about a minute, but it still felt tacky on the skin and quite heavy, and it also made my base look uneven as it shifted some of my foundation around. I didn’t risk adding powder on top of this as it would just cake on and cling to the stickiness of the product.

Where I did apply the product was mattified, but it was definitely visible as it was a different texture to the rest of my skin and didn’t sit quite right for me.

I think this would be worth trying if you don’t wear makeup, and want to plump out some crows-feet or fine lines. But who knows – it could have been my makeup, it may work perfectly for you but it just wasn’t for me.

It’s also a reasonable price for what it can do for some people, I have heard of it doing wonders for plumping out skin and fine lines, making people look years younger, but at 18 I don’t think I am quite ready for this product yet. Perhaps let me try it in 15 years (being hopeful that I don’t need it before then!)?

Placenta Ampoule Cream by Mizon

Next out of the box was my first Korean product! Korean cosmetics are so big right now so I was extremely excited to receive this product from Mizon. The name had me rather intrigued: Placenta Ampoule Cream. It actually sounds quite disgusting if you don’t realise that plants have Placentas. This cream is enriched with plant placenta extract which supplies rich nutrients to cells, in short improving their regeneration abilities and plumping the skin while preventing or slowing the appearance of new wrinkles and improving skin-tone.

As with the Nanoblur Instant Skin Finisher, I don’t think I quite need to worry about wrinkles just now, but if I use this constantly does it mean I will never get wrinkles?! I wish…Still, I absolutely love this moisturiser. To me, it almost feels like a sorbet (as in the moisturising type) as it is so cool and spreads onto the skin easily. I feel so refreshed when I use this. My skin also feels lovely and soft and actually does feel firmer after I have used it. Maybe my skin can be plumped after all! Its scent is very faint and unobtrusive, the closest thing I can think that it smells like is Sudocrem…yes the baby stuff! But it is not as strong as that so I barely noticed it.

A little goes a long way with this product, so I suspect I wont have to repurchase anytime soon, but I definitely will be when  I run out. It makes my skin feel revitalised, smooth and plumped and I’ve only been using it nightly. I’m highly impressed and would definitely recommend it!

Lustre Lipstick by Nizz Cosmetics

Last is the lovely Lustre Lipstick in Cashmere Nude by Nizz Cosmetics. Hypo-allergenic, Vegetarian and Paraben free, this brand leaves you with a clear conscience.

This lipstick feels like a heavy-duty balm on the lips; enriched with fairtrade butter, oils and waxes, cocoa and vitamin E you are not only applying natural products to your lips but you are nourishing them too. A lipstick with brilliant colour pay-off which simultaneously moisturises your lips and finishes off a makeup look – what more could you ask for?

One thing I may have asked for was a slightly darker shade as this one looks a little too pale barbie on me and I just don’t think it suits me. I have found it quite good for contouring my lips by applying a little to the inner part of my lips when I’m wearing a darker lipstick, as long as I blend them together well.I still get use out of this lipstick by mixing it with other colours too. I would definitely consider buying this lipstick in a different shade.
